- THE MISSION

To offer the community a high-level educational institution aiming at the students’ formation, fulfilling their desires and needs. This is a permanent goal of The Augusto Laranja School.

Our mission is educating: to provide the development of skills needed for the full development of the students. We aim at motivating them to foster the capacity and interest to learn; to seek information and transform them into knowledge, life and wisdom; to live by universal values such as solidarity, freedom, autonomy and critical spirit based on ethics, citizenship and environment awareness practices.

CURRICULAR ORGANIZATION

In preparing the curriculum we take into consideration the demands of a world of complex, diversified relationships, and we intend:

to enable the students to acquire science and technology knowledge, and to develop skills to operate them;
to provide a set of experiences that assure the students their comprehension of reality and the basic fundamentals to operate and act on it.
In this sense, the pedagogical intervention leads to the interdisciplinary work, which makes knowledge more integrated, enabling the resolution of problems through various manners and the viewing of a theme under various aspects, acting closer to the real world.

This interdisciplinary form is expressed in the projects that lead the student to the real learning. Challenged by motivating issues, the student searches a way out concretely and gets information, elaborates hypothesis, records data, makes calculations, learns how to express himself, relates his knowledge among various areas, and ultimately applies what he learns into his reality.
